Mary McClure was the second wife of the Rev John Linn, whom she married on March 11, 1826. Seven children were born to this union, named in the sketch of the Rev John Linn. Mary McClure was the daughter of The Rev. David McClure, born in
1745. He preached the ideologies of the New England Congregationalists.
He later adopted the Presbyterian faith and as early as 1772 he preached
the Presbyterian gospel at the Three Springs encampment, Cumberland
