James Luther Shaver married Joanne Carol Painter at Plum Creek Presbyterian Church in Plum Borough on July 21, 1973. Three children blessed their marriage: Jennifer Carol, born Jan 10, 1975, James Ansel, born March 16, 1976, and Janis Ann, born June 25, 1979.

Joanne and James were divorced, amicably, October 6, 1995.

Joanne writes: "We are the grandparents of 3 little girls... Hope Marie Calcagno (b 25 Aug 1996) Natalie Nicole Tejchman (b 4 March 1998) and Brianna Rose Tejchman (23 Sept. 2002)."

Daughter Jennifer Carol Shaver married Gregory Allen Davis on August 16, 2008.

Daughter Janis Ann Shaver married Kevin Michael Bennett on August 9, 2008. They have a little baby girl and named her Brooke Li Bennett, born on May 20, 2009.
