As a memorial to the pioneer settler, Peter Shaver, our original American ancestor, who, in the early colonial days, pioneered in the development of Pennsylvania, and to the memory of the sturdy immigrants who fled persecution in their native lands, these pages are dedicated.

It is hoped that descendants living in these modern times will appreciate the trials, troubles, dangers and sufferings our forefathers endured in shaping a Commonwealth which affords us an abundance of all the necessities of a modern and comfortable living.
