Believing that the present generation is not interested in, or is too busy in this bustling world to be troubled with, delving through volumes of history to learn about their ancestors, and, inasmuch as I have compiled the biographies of our ancestors dating back to 1738, when our first American pioneer came to this country, I feel that I will not be denied the pleasure of including, for posterity's sake, a sketch of a fine family of the Shaver clan, of which we are proud — our own.
